Since I couldn't get up the mountain before the show officially ended, I couldn't get a lot of great shots,
but there were still some pretty cool cars around. Here are a few. |

One of the coolest was this great 510 wagon built by Nate Smith. It looked very subtle from the outside, but it had a VG30 and some incredible interior work.
Check out the "flames' from the speakers and all the billet hardware. |
Left: Gordon Gaurotte brought his 411 from Vancouver, Washington. This was the predecessor to the 510.
Right: The classic 510 look still looks great. |
Check out this engine. It was in a very stock-looking 510. It has crank-triggered ignition, fuel injection with good velocity stacks and is at least 2 liters displacement. A real sleeper. |
How about this? 240-Z VIN number HLS30-00036! Fully restored and just incredible! |
Last but not least, Dave Coleman showed up to cover the event. Dave is a former member of Northwest Datsun Enthusiasts and is now Engineering Editor for Sport Compact Car magazine.
This little Sentra that he was driving was thrown together by a couple of guys at Nissan. It has full trick suspension, Brembo brakes, sticky Toyo Proxes tires on big rims and a turboed SR20 engine.
Dave thinks the engine is making about 300 hp. Let's just say it was still accelerating hard at 120 mph uphill in 5th gear when I rode in it!
Yo! Nissan! Build this sucker! |
