Mt. Shasta Meet, 2001 - Cars

There are so many cars at this show and the preparation is so exceptional that I don't get enough opportunity to shoot them all. For a roadster fan, it's definitely a case of sensory overload. Maybe by next year I will have figured out how to clone myself so I can cover more of the cars and still get time to talk with all my friends. I'm sorry I didn't get shots of all the class winners, but of course, I didn't know who they were until the awards banquet.

Herb Petty's 1966 with the KA24 engine is so exceptionally done that he only enters it in the show every few years. This year it was Display Only.

Craig Hooper took 1st in Modified 2000 and Best Of Show in his supercharged monster car. Features include a dry-sump oiling system, crank-trigger ignition, belt-drive conversion and AutoMeter gauges.

Gerardo Magana won 1st in Stock 2000 with this excellent 1967 2000 Solex. The car was put together in the last four weeks before the show!

Buz Bowerman built this unique car for his wife, Kay. It has a KA24 engine with automatic and very nice interior. And yes, those are Karmann-Ghia taillights!

Mike Young went roadsterless this year and brought this incredible 1967 1200 Bluebird. It only has 28,000 miles on it.
Mike was debating about washing it before the show, but I convinced him to tell everyone that it was still the original dirt.
