There are several major shows that either focus on Datsun Roadsters exclusively or at least feature them
prominently. At the moment, they all seem to be in California. this isn't too surprising, really,
considering the good weather, the car culture of Southern California and the fact that Datsun's
earliest efforts in the U.S. were centered on California. There are many other local shows and cruises
that take place around the country, but these are the "biggies."
You will notice that Fred Katz has covered a number of the events on the West Coast. Fred has done some really great work on these.

Mt. Shasta
The oldest and biggest of the shows is the Mt. Shasta Meet, held in early July in the little town of
Mt. Shasta City in northern California. Started in 1984 by Ross Mullen
as the Datsun Roadster Association's West Coast Meet, it has become the premiere event for Roadsters.
Ross, one of the founders of the Datsun Roadster Association and long-time owner of
Sports Imports, has done as much to promote
the "fellowship of the Roadster" as anyone I know. After organizing the show for 11 years
"long-distance" from his home in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Ross turned the show over to others.
It is currently being organized by the Modesto Roadster Club of Modesto, California.

CDM's Doheney Beach Surfside All Datsun Meet
One of the other "Prime Movers" in the Datsun roadster community is Les Cannaday, owner of
Classic Datsun Motorsports
(or CDM) in the San Diego area. If you remember Nissan's "Dream Garage" commercial
durung the 1996 Olympics, you've seen his work - about half the cars in the commercial were restored
by CDM.

Solvang Datsun Roadster Show
Solvang is a small town a little ways up the coast from Santa Barbara. I believe it started
out as a get-together for LA-area roadster folks and has since gotten a lot more recognition.
I hate to admit it, but I really don't know who puts on the Solvang show.
