Various Roadster Racers
Paul Jaremko, owner of Jaremko Saab/Nissan in Spokane, WA races this VERY clean '69 2000 in vintage races (yes, it's really a converted 1600). Paul actually sold the car new from his dealership, then bought it back a number of years later. The day was very wet and Paul decided not to chance it, so I didn't get any on-track shots, but the car is so clean I had to include it here. The paint is original!

Dan Garrison of Portland OR in his 1600 at Seattle International Raceway, 8/12/89. Event was a Conference race, Dan's first "real" race after upgrading from novice status (note the red rectangle with black X). Per Conference Production class rules, the engine is stock and the suspension is full comp (but stock brakes).

This is the 1600 Dennis Peters was racing before he picked up the 2000 featured in the "History of a Race Car" gallery.

This is one of only 5 or 6 trick factory lightweight 2000 race cars built. I think the weight is about 1650 lbs. This shot was taken at an SCCA/Vintage race at the Olympia airport in Washington sometime in the 1980's, when the car was owned by Alan Murtaugh. It now belongs to Don Chapman and is campaigned by Purple Lips Racing Team.

Ron Van Schoiack won D Production in a supporting race for the 1982 IMSA at Portland International Raceway. The car is now owned by Dan Garrison of Portland OR and is being restored for vintage racing.

Howard Fletcher runs this 1967 2000 in Australia. He does quite well, too - he won the 1998 Group Sb Championship against some pretty formidable competition. Here he is leading an Alfa and a Triumph. Photo by Darren Hodgson.

Here are a couple of shots of a Japanese 2000 race car that I found in "J's Tipo" magazine. The car is really trick. Looks like a 1-piece front end, big flares and an enclosed cockpit. The conversion was done by Rose Auto. Apparently there are many "boutique" auto shops in Japan that do such conversions. My thanks to James Doh for the translations.

"ROSE AUTO Fairlady made to order! F-series catagory racing. This is a reverse imported Fairlady that is owned by Mr. Kobayashi and raced by him also."

"People cannot believe this is a Fairlady from the well intergrated excellent bodywork. The fairlady can be ordered to your specifications with this body from Rose Auto..."
